Spiral antennas offer high spectral efficiency, low gain, and circular polarization. In addition, they deliver frequency-independent performance across wide bandwidths while maintaining a compact form factor.

Because of these features, spiral antennas perform well inside RF shield boxes. As a result, they support consistent and reliable RF testing in controlled environments.

In the defense industry, engineers use spiral antennas for sensing applications that require wide bandwidth and minimal space. For example, military aircraft often use spiral antenna arrays operating in the 1–18 GHz range.

Beyond defense, spiral antennas also support GPS applications. In this case, right-hand circular polarization (RHCP) improves signal reliability and reception.
