Description

The TC-93065A Antenna Coupler supports RF testing up to 6 GHz. Engineers commonly use it for validating a wide range of wireless devices, including GPS and GNSS products. The coupler uses RHCP (Right Hand Circular Polarization), which improves test accuracy for circularly polarized systems.

Unlike small standard inductive couplers, the TC-93065A Antenna Coupler allows placement farther away from the DUT antenna. This spacing lets engineers test the entire wireless device assembly, including the antenna itself. As a result, the coupler delivers better repeatability during near-field testing while accurately simulating far-field conditions.

For proper installation, mount the antenna coupler using a fixture and secure it to the ceiling of the Faraday cage. This setup provides stable coupling and consistent RF performance during testing. If your application focuses primarily on GPS or GNSS validation, consider the TC93061 Antenna Coupler, which is optimized for GPS testing.

RHCP antennas, or Right Hand Circular Polarized antennas, differ from LHCP (Left Hand Circular Polarized) antennas in signal orientation. Engineers often refer to both types as circularly polarized (CP) antennas. Circular polarization reduces radio interference caused by multipathing, where reflected signals distort measurements.

By minimizing unwanted reflections, RHCP antennas deliver a cleaner RF signal. This makes them especially effective for radiated testing inside an RF Shield Box, also known as a Faraday cage.
