Description

TC-5067A 18 GHz GTEM Cell

Compact Broadband GTEM Cell for EMC, EMI, and RF Testing

The TC-5067A 18 GHz GTEM Cell provides a compact solution for EMC, EMI, and RF testing. Engineers use it to test small electronic and wireless devices. The system generates a controlled electromagnetic field for radiated immunity testing and measures radiated emissions from transmitting devices. Its broadband design supports frequencies up to 18 GHz.

Advanced GTEM Technology

Traditional TEM Cells lose accuracy at higher frequencies because resonance develops inside the cell. The TC-5067A GTEM Cell minimizes resonance with an advanced broadband GTEM design. This approach creates stable electromagnetic fields across a wider frequency range. Engineers receive accurate and repeatable measurements without using a large anechoic chamber.

The compact design fits easily on a laboratory bench or engineering workstation. High shielding effectiveness reduces external electromagnetic interference and improves measurement consistency. The system also supports DUT rotators for multi-angle testing.

How the TC-5067A Works

Engineers apply an RF signal through the input connector to generate a predictable electromagnetic field inside the test area. They place the Device Under Test (DUT) inside the cell and evaluate its performance under controlled conditions.

When the DUT transmits RF energy, the GTEM Cell directs the signal to a spectrum analyzer or RF receiver. Engineers measure radiated emissions, radiated immunity, receiver sensitivity, and RF susceptibility with reliable and repeatable results.

Typical Applications

The TC-5067A GTEM Cell supports a wide range of EMC and RF testing applications, including:

  • EMC pre-compliance testing
  • EMI troubleshooting
  • Product development
  • Design validation
  • Quality assurance
  • Production testing
  • Receiver sensitivity testing
  • Radiated emissions testing
  • Radiated immunity testing

Engineers also use the system to evaluate mobile phones, Bluetooth® devices, Wi-Fi® products, IoT devices, RF modules, automotive electronics, medical devices, aerospace systems, and consumer electronics.

Benefits

Early EMC testing helps engineering teams identify design issues before certification. Finding problems earlier reduces redesign costs, shortens development time, and improves product reliability.

The TC-5067A GTEM Cell combines broadband performance, high shielding effectiveness, and a compact desktop footprint. Its operation up to 18 GHz makes it an excellent solution for evaluating modern wireless communication technologies while delivering accurate and repeatable RF measurements.
